Wizkid wins MOBO best African act 

The 2016 edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards has finally crawled to an end, and this year sees Nigerian star singer and songwriter Wizkid beating his other African contemporaries to take home ‘Best African Act’ award , at the ceremony which was held last night at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro centre.

This Africa’s hottest artist, Wizkid, who recently took home the best awards at the 2016 MAMA affirms his reign as the best voice of his generation.

Also at the event, singer and songwriter, Craig David beats his contemporaries to cop the ‘Best Male Act’.

Best R&B/Soul – Shakka.

Best Grime Act (in association with BBC Radio 1Xtra) – Chip.

Best International Act – Drake.

Best Jazz Act – Esperanza Spalding.

Best Gospel Act – Guvna B.

Best Reggae Act – Popcaan.

Best African Act – WizKid.

Paving The Way – Nicola Adams and Ms Dynamit.
